If submitting as a Word Document, the proofreader uses track changes. This enables you to see exactly where the changes were made and to decide whether or not to keep them.
The document will be returned with the track changes visible, to enable you to stay more in control of your written words.
If submitting as a Google Document, the proofreaders will select the Suggestion option, which gives you the option to accept or reject each suggested alternation.
Google Documents may be larger files and require special markups to highlight areas to be proofed. BestWords provides this instruction for users.
Remember, that proofreaders are reading documents from the perspective of an independent reader, one who is coming at the text, and probably the topic, fresh, for the first time. She is reading for meaning, flow, spelling and grammar. The proofreaders job is to clean up and polish a text for publication.
Edting is a different approach involving more creative and intensive input. Watch out for the next blog to go into more detail about editing.
BestWords commitment to you is to respond to your request within 24 hours.
